Dork Diaries 8: Tales from a Not-So-Happily Ever After continues Nikki Maxwell's relatable middle school adventures, this time with a fantastical twist. After a head injury during gym class, Nikki dreams she's living out a series of classic fairy tales, with her friends, crushes, and especially her rival Mackenzie, cast in familiar roles. Presented in a popular graphic novel diary format with doodles and comic strips, this book explores themes of friendship, self-esteem, and navigating social hierarchies, all wrapped in a humorous and imaginative narrative. It's ideal for readers aged 10-14 who enjoy contemporary school stories with a touch of fantasy.
This book is very interesting! Nikki's enemy Mackenzie, hits her in the head with a ball at P.E. which Mackenzie says she did "accidentally". Niki passes out and has a dream about trying to escape her OWN dream, I'm not sure how to say it but it's king of like Dorthy and The Wizard of Oz.
